Welcome to the MicroArray
Application System, a system that allows UM MicroArray researchers
and laboratory personnel to retrieve and store information
regarding:
- DNA Information from databases such as GeneBank, UniGene,
LocusLink.
- Information about DNA clones generated by the UM Psychiatry/MBNI
Laboratory.

ProbeMatchDB: for matching a list of microarray
probes across different microrarray platforms (GeneChip, EST from
different vendors, Operon Oligos) and species (human, mouse and
rat). The capability to match protein sequence IDs has just been
added to facilitate proteomic studies. The ProbeMatchDB is mainly
used for the design of verification experiments or comparing the
microarray results from different platforms. |

|
| |
Probe Identity and Reliability: find the latest
UniGene ID for a list of EST accession numbers or Affymetrix probe
IDs. The reliability of a particular human probe to represent a
unique human gene is also calculated based on the clustering consistency
of four major public domain clustering databases (UniGene, IMAGEne,
TIGR and STACK). This function is mainly for the validation of probe
identity and reliability before time-consuming follow-up studies. |

Search EST: for identifying microarray probes
satisfying biology-related criteria, including keyword in gene name,
genomic location of genes and the tissue origin of cDNA libraries
for the ESTs. Ontology, pathway and other functional category-based
search will also be added. The Search EST function can be used for
the selection of microarray platform that satisfying the user’s
criteria (e.g., set of important genes that must present on the
platform) as well as the design of custom microarrays. |

|
 |
|
| |
Search SNP: facilitate the search of SNPs that
statisfying user’s criteria (e.g., cause amino acid change
in coding region) for a list of genes identified in microarray experiments. |
| |
|
 |
|
| |
SNP Function Portal provides all-in-one SNP
functional properties search based on both genomic and genetic
criteria. |
